Product Capabilities & Performance
Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers
Protectapeel Anti-Rust was applied to bare steel components to protect against flash rusting, weathering, weld spatter and scratching during transport, storage, and assembly.
Working alongside BAE Systems, Spraylat also protected finished surfaces during major construction activities, reducing damage and corrosion risk to high-value areas throughout complex, multi-trade operations.
Hinkley Point C
Big Carl, the world’s strongest land-based crane, stands 820 ft tall and can lift up to 5,000 tonnes in a single lift. In 2020, it installed the first 575-tonne steel ring forming the reinforced cylinder around the nuclear reactor, followed by a second ring less than a year later.
During construction, Protectapeel Anti-Rust was used to protect internal steel surfaces and anchor plates from corrosion, ensuring critical components remained rust-free throughout the build process.
RRS Sir David Attenborough – Polar Research Vessel
Protectapeel was used during the UK manufacture of the RRS Sir David Attenborough to protect critical surfaces throughout construction and fit-out.
Exposed to harsh weather conditions, moisture, salt air, and heavy site activity, the vessel required a temporary protection solution capable of withstanding extreme environments.
Protectapeel formed a durable barrier against corrosion, weld spatter, grinding sparks, abrasion, and contamination, before being cleanly peeled away to reveal pristine finishes.
service related FAQ’s
Yes, Protectapeel is UV-resistant and can be removed easily even after prolonged exposure to sunlight.
Yes, Protectapeel can be applied to non-porous door and window frames to protect from damage caused by scratching, plaster, or weather exposure. Before full application, you must always apply the Protectapeel product to a small test area to test the substrate’s suitability. You must ensure that all substrates are well covered. Allow the product to dry for 48 hours, and then check that the Protectapeel product will peel away from each substrate.
Yes, applying Protectapeel Top Coat on top of Protectapeel Original creates a waterproof barrier that effectively protects surfaces from moisture and contaminants.
Yes, Protectapeel is specifically designed to endure harsh weather conditions, including UV rays, rain, and wind, making it ideal for outdoor use. Additionally, Protectapeel Anti-Rust has undergone 1,440 hours of salt spray testing and achieved a C5 High durability rating in compliance with EN ISO 12944-6 and EN ISO 9227 standards.
Simply peel it off from one edge. It comes off in one piece, leaving no residue or damage to the surface.
