Project Overview
Formation Design & Build delivered the Sir Frederick Messer Estate, a residential development in Tottenham for the London Borough of Haringey. The scheme provides 66new social rent homes across two six-storey blocks, including family accommodation and wheelchair-accessible units. Designed in line with GLA Net Zero Carbon targets and Passivhaus principles, the project combines high-quality housing delivery with a strong focus on long-term performance, efficiency and sustainability.
The Challenge
On a live construction project of this scale, internal glazed surfaces and adjacent finished materials are vulnerable to scratches, marking and general site damage during on going trades and fit-out activities. With a quality-driven residential scheme, maintaining the appearance of glass and other completed surfaces was essential to avoiding rework, protecting programme efficiency and supporting a high standard of handover.
The Solution
Spraylat supported the project with Protectapeel GlassDefend, a temporary peelable coating developed to protect glass and other smooth internal surfaces during construction and finishing works. Easy to apply and engineered for clean removal, GlassDefend created a durable protective barrier against scratches and damage while helping the contractor preserve completed finishes through to project completion. Its residue-free peel characteristics also helped streamline final surface preparation before handover.
