Project Overview

Chelsea Barracks Phase 1 and 2 is a landmark residential-led development in one of London’s most prestigious locations. The project includes high-specification apartments, townhouses and extensive glazed elements across the development. To support installation quality and maintain presentation standards during construction, Spraylat International’s Protectapeel GlassDefend was used to provide temporary protection for internal glass surfaces.

The Challenge

On a premium residential scheme of this scale, internal glass needed to remain in excellent condition throughout ongoing construction activity. High traffic levels, follow-on trades and extended programme durations increased the risk of scratches, impact damage and contamination. Any damage to installed glass could have led to replacement works, additional cleaning requirements and unnecessary project costs, while also affecting programme efficiency.

The Solution

Protectapeel GlassDefend was specified to protect 5,000m² of internal glass across the Chelsea Barracks development. The peelable coating created a reliable temporary barrier against scratches, site damage and surface contamination during construction. Its easy application supported efficient installation, while the long protection window of up to 24 months made it well suited to a phased, high-value project. Once protection was no longer required, the coating could be removed cleanly with a residue-free peel, helping to streamline final finishing and handover.
