Project Overview
For the Bethnal Green development, Yuanda required a dependable temporary protection solution to help maintain the condition of internal glazed and finished surfaces during the construction phase. With a high-profile regeneration project involving contemporary façades and premium finishes, surface protection needed to be easy to apply, durable over an extended programme and simple to remove without leaving residue. Spraylat supported the project with Protectapeel GlassDefend, a peelable coating designed to protect sensitive surfaces while improving site efficiency and finish quality.
The Challenge
Large-scale urban regeneration schemes place significant pressure on finished surfaces during installation, follow-on trades and final fit-out. On a project such as Bethnal Green, glass and adjacent internal surfaces needed reliable protection from scratches, scuffs, dirt and general site damage over a prolonged period. The solution also had to support efficient handover by removing cleanly at the end of the programme, without creating additional remedial work or compromising the appearance of completed surfaces.
The Solution
Spraylat supplied Protectapeel GlassDefend as a temporary peelable coating for internal surface protection. Developed for use on glass as well as aluminium, PVCu, acrylic, stainless steel, painted aluminium and polished concrete, GlassDefend provided Yuanda with a versatile and practical way to protect valuable finished surfaces throughout the construction process. Its easy-application format helped streamline on-site use, while the durable coating remained in place for up to 24 months. When protection was no longer required, the product could be peeled away cleanly, supporting a faster and more efficient completion stage.
