Project Overview
Parkhouse Street is a mixed-use residential development in Camberwell, London Borough of Southwark, delivering 109 new homes across two blocks of up to eleven storeys, alongside commercial floorspace, parking and landscaping. Formation Design & Build was appointed as the completion contractor after the original contractor became insolvent. On a project of this scale, maintaining the quality of internal glazed and finished surfaces during the final stages of construction was essential to support efficient completion and handover.
The Challenge
With multiple trades working across an active completion programme, internal glass and other finished surfaces required dependable temporary protection against scratches, scuffs, and general site damage. The protection solution needed to be simple to apply, durable enough to remain in place through extended construction activity, and clean to remove without leaving residue that could delay final cleaning, inspection, or client handover. Fire performance was also an important consideration in the product selection process.
The Solution
Spraylat supplied Protectapeel GlassDefend, an advanced temporary peelable coating developed to protect internal surfaces including glass, aluminium, PVCu, acrylic, stainless steel, painted aluminium and polished concrete for up to 24 months. For theParkhouse development, GlassDefend provided a practical and high-performance protective layer for internal glazed surfaces, helping Formation Design & Build preserve finish quality while keeping site operations moving efficiently. Once protection was no longer required, the coating could be peeled away cleanly and residue-free, supporting a streamlined finishing process.
