Project Overview

QVC UK operates live television studios in London where products are presented and demonstrated in real time. In this fast-paced broadcasting environment, studio floors and infinity coves must remain visually consistent and production-ready while being regularly repainted to suit changing sets and creative requirements. To support this process, QVC UK uses Protectapeel Multi Surface as a peelable protective base layer that helps preserve the underlying vinyl flooring, reduce maintenance time and improve operational efficiency.

The Challenge

QVC UK’s studio environment presented a specialist surface protection challenge. Floors are frequently repainted to accommodate different productions, causing multiple paint layers to build up over time. Removing these layers using conventional methods can be labour-intensive, time-consuming and damaging to the floor beneath. Without a more efficient protection system, the studio faced increased downtime between productions, higher maintenance demands and accelerated wear on valuable internal surfaces.

The Solution

Spraylat’s Protectapeel Multi Surface was used as a peelable protective coating on the studio’s vinyl floor surfaces. Applied directly to the floor, the coating created a removable barrier that allowed production teams to paint over it repeatedly for different set designs. As paint layers accumulated, the combined build-up could then be peeled away in a single process, removing the protective coating and overlying paint together.
